MCGI Libreng Sakay
“In all things I gave you an example, that so laboring ye ought to help the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that he himself said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
(Acts 20:35, ASV)
Gas prices are in a relentless hike, and drivers
have no way to stop it except by free trips. In 2007, Kuya Daniel Razon
established Libreng Sakay to offer free transportation to vulnerable public
transportation passengers hoping that some money saved from fare will help them
with other needs. Libreng Sakay was just a vision of Kuya Daniel Razon, but
this project came into reality for years and is being sponsored by the program
Ang Dating Daan (The Old Path), Bro. Eli Soriano.
Two buses are running throughout Metro Manila to make free ride service
to the public. Boarding facilities from Monumento to Baclaran, as well as
Baclaran to Monumento, are available Monday to Friday from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00
a.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The bus also gave away free breakfast and
bibles. The passengers are thankful for the opportunity and the money they
saved because of the free ride.
The free rides initiative has expanded to various parts of the region, offering multi-transport cars, starting with two free service buses that began trips on the Metro Manila main highway.
